Heat And Eat!

All of the selections from Sweet Cheeks Baby Food can be microwaved for convenience. If microwaving is not your thing, it can be simmered on the stovetop, heated in the oven, and some people even use their bottle warmer!

Microwave:

Newbies: Microwave for 30 seconds, and stir. Microwave again for thirty seconds, stir, and repeat until desired temperature.

Combos: Microwave for one minute, and stir. If it's not warm enough, microwave thirty seconds at a time until thawed and warm. Stir.

Baby 'Roles: Microwave for one minute and thirty seconds, and stir. Continue heating, if necessary for thirty seconds at a time until thawed and warm. Stir.

Submersion or Warm Water Thawing:

Place the food in a small bowl and then place the bowl in a larger bowl filled with hot water. Thawing using this "submersion method" should take between 10-20 minutes. You can also do this with a pan of warm water on the stove; add the smaller bowl to a pot of water that you have warmed.

IMPORTANT FACTORS!

  • Before heating, remove frozen food from the bag and place in a glass, microwave - safe bowl.

  • Microwave ovens differ. Yours may require more or less cooking time.

  • Stir!! Please stir well to avoid hot spots.

  • Thawing food on your kitchen counter is never recommended as bacteria or other contaminants may get into the food.

  • You should not feed your baby from the container and then re-store the container that baby has been fed from! Saliva may contaminate the food and bacteria may evolve. Always take the portions you will serve from the container and transfer to a feeding bowl.

  • Please keep in mind that heating baby food is NOT necessary.  Sweet Cheeks Baby food  may be served at room temperature once it has been thawed! Many babies enjoy room temperature foods!

  • Roasting is a process we use often... it results in the best quality and flavor, AND retains the most nutrients. The flesh of the produce becomes darker with roasting, sometimes just in spots. It all gets pureed together. It's not unusual to find a dark spot in the purees; it's just a result of the roasting process.

  • You may notice some color variation in Sweet Cheeks Baby Food. This is further proof of our small batch process, and a very normal result of using fresh and local organic produce!

  • We never use any additives or preservatives of any kind. We don't add any fats, oils or seasonings to any of our food. We use only organic ingredients. These are not always the prettiest, but they ARE always the healthiest... and just as importantly, the TASTIEST!

Happy, healthy babies have Sweet Cheeks!
